Emily Gulden is a passionate performer from New Jersey, who has dedicated many years to honing her craft.

With a unique look and a wide range of abilities, she has a knack for Shakespeare, playing the ingenue, drama, and impeccable comedic timing. A reviewer once compared her portrayal of Laurie in Brighton Beach Memoirs to that of the great British comedians.

An honors graduate from Wagner College with a degree in Theatre and minors in Political Science and Film/Media Studies, Emily has trained extensively beyond the classroom. She studied ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop with Starlight PAC, Steps, and BDC. She takes regular vocal lessons with Badiene Magaziner’s vocal studio in musical theatre and pop and studies acting with Denise Simon. Throughout her career, she has worked with renowned West End actors, Off-Broadway and Broadway directors, and continues to build upon her experience.

Her favorite credits include Toffee in Zombie Prom with Broadway Director Phil Mckinley, Emmy in A Doll’s House Part Two at Wagner College, and Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens at Catalyst Theater Company, where she played Anna Labia but also served as Dance Captain, working closely with the legendary Sheila Barker.

Beyond performing, Emily is passionate about sharing her love of theatre with the next generation. She teaches musical theatre classes to children ages 4-13 at Starlight Performing Arts.

Recently, she starred as Mia in the short horror film Scout, a chilling story about an orphaned girl who pretends to be a Girl Scout to gain entry into Jordan’s home—only to reveal her deadly intentions. Scout has been submitted to multiple film festivals in the Tri-State area, earning multiple nominations and winning Best Screenplay. Emily has received several nominations for Best Actress and won Best Villain.

When she’s not auditioning, rehearsing, or teaching, Emily enjoys singing rock songs with her dad, spending summers at the Jersey Shore, and getting lost in a good book. She also has her Advanced Open Water Scuba Diving certification. Her dream is to one day star in the screen adaptation of one of her favorite books.
